70s Allen Edmonds Leeds Plain Toe

アレンエドモンズのロングセーラーモデル・リードだ。このモデルは現行品も存在し、同じモデル名だ。定番でありながら、各社の特徴が反映されやすいのがこちらのモデル。アレンエドモンズの1970年台〜80年代にかけてのPTBの特徴はトゥー・ディテールがややスクエア気味である事だ。そのため、他のメーカーと比べドレス感の強い印象だ。年代だがインソック表記にOstendo Cushioned Heelの下にmade inUSAの表記ない・ COMB の後に4桁の番号ないため、1970年〜75年初期製造と推定している。


Allen Edmonds(アレン エドモンズ)
アメリカを代表する高級靴ブランド。「オールデン」と並び、米国靴の最高峰の一角として知られている。その歴史は1922年に靴職人のエルバート・W・アレン氏がウィスコンシン州の小さな町ベルギーでシューカンパニーを立ち上げたことに始まる。世界大戦中には米軍に靴を供給し、戦後にドレスシューズの分野でも人気を得た。なお、代表モデル「パークアベニュー」はカナダ大統領のスティーブン・ハーパー氏のほか、ロナルド・レーガン氏、ジョージ・H・W・ブッシュ氏、ビル・クリントン氏、ジョージ・W・ブッシュ氏ら歴代アメリカ大統領が就任式の際に履いたことで有名である。
